PBS Special: A much better representation

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about a rather mis-representative article in the Chronicle of Higher Education on what the higher education scene was like in the Arabian Gulf. My perspectives on that article have not changed. However, there was recently a special done by PBS on Education City which paints a much more accurate picture of what's going on here. It provides interviews with Qatar Foundation officials, students, and staff from the branch campuses - all of which are very insightful. It doesn't gloss over issues like labor laws and the price tag of the project, but rather draws attention to them with much more accuracy than the Chronicle article ever dreamed of doing. Anyway, here's the link to the video. I highly recommend that you watch it.
